      Welcome to the Initial AEMT Hybrid Course offered by North American Rescue Training and Education (NAR-T)! This comprehensive Advanced EMT training program is designed to provide both the flexibility of online learning and the critical hands-on skills needed to excel in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The course is structured to be completed in as little as 90 days, with a total of 241.5 hours of education, including skills labs, testing, and clinical rotations, all of which must be completed within one year.


      Course Objectives

      By the end of this course, you will be able to:

      1. Complete the didactic and practical requirements for Advanced EMT certification.
      2. Prepare for and pass the National Registry AEMT written and psychomotor exams.
      3. Apply advanced EMS skills in real-world scenarios through hands-on practice and clinical rotations.
      4. Meet the educational requirements for state licensure as an Advanced EMT (check local EMS Office requirements).

      Course Structure

      This hybrid course is divided into two main components: online learning and in-person skills training.

      Online Learning:

      • Accessible 24/7 via the NAR Training LMS.
      • Complete online modules at your own pace using your desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
      • Includes 241.5 hours of education, featuring:
        • Downloadable electronic textbook
        • Study center and assessments
        • 10 virtual simulation scenarios
        • Test prep tools for the National Registry cognitive exam

      In-Person Skills Training:

      • Held at the NAR Training facilities in Las Vegas, Nevada, or Greer, South Carolina.
      • 6-day hands-on skills portion, scheduled every other month (even months only) in Las Vegas, NV, and once per quarter in Greer, SC.
        • 3 days of classroom hands-on skills practice.
        • 1 day of psychomotor skills testing with the NREMT.
        • 2 days of clinical rotations, consisting of two 12-hour observational ride-alongs with local Fire Departments or Ambulance companies.

      Prerequisites 

      • Basic Life Saver / CPR Certification.
      • NREMT or State EMT Certification.

      Required Documentation

      Following enrollment into the course, you will need to upload the following documentation:

      • Course Enrollment Agreement
      • Identification (Driver's License, Military ID, Passport)
      • Basic Life Saver / CPR Certification
      • NREMT or State EMT Certification

      Tuition Fee

      The course tuition fee includes:

      • Access to the NAR Training LMS and all course materials.
      • Hands-on skills week.
      • Two 12-hour clinical ride-alongs.
      • National Registry AEMT psychomotor skills test.

      Please note that the tuition fee must be paid in full to gain access to the course. Travel expenses to the NAR Training Center for skills labs are not covered. We do not require drug tests, background checks, immunization records, or uniforms. The only requirement for in-person skills sessions is wearing closed-toed shoes.

      Course Completion Requirements

      • Maintain an 80% total course average to graduate from the online portion.
      • Pass the midterm and final exams with a 75% or higher.
      • Complete the online portion 100% before attending the hands-on skills week.
      • Completion of two 12-hour clinical ride-alongs
